Let’s Get Together

Hello friends . . . grace and peace,

Did you know that Albert Einstein was a really smart guy? Well, he was. And it wasn’t just the whole E=mc2 thing or that Theory of Relativity. Einstein actually proved that “The Big Lie” of the 20th century was, in fact, a lie.

“What is ‘The Big Lie’?”, you ask? During the 1900’s a lot of people came up with the idea that we’re all individuals and that the key to living is to believe that, “You can do anything you want to do.” Except, you can’t. You need other people. Einstein called this “the delusion of separateness”.

Some people took this whole “individualism” and mashed it together with religion to form some new ideas about God/Jesus/bible/Church. They began to talk about faith as something that was private or that following Jesus was a personal decision. Except, it isn’t. The Way of Jesus is the exact opposite because it leads us to the Truth that we are actually all connected. We are “one” (as Jesus prays in John 17).

Christianity – following Jesus – doesn’t (or certainly shouldn’t) isolate individuals from others. Nor should it isolate communities, or groups of people, from other communities or groups. That is moving in the opposite direction of Jesus. It is “anti-Christ”.

Do you realize what this means? It means we need each other. It means that faith isn’t about you, or me. It’s about us, and we. And we, all of us, you and me, need to get together, to hang out, to have fun, to pray, to talk about our lives, our struggles, our joys, everything. It’s all connected. All of us, together, we are One.

Come and join us on Sunday mornings for Film School. Or be there on Wednesday nights for D-Groups. There are Sunday afternoon and evening opportunities for fun and service at Youth Group. We can hang out at retreats, camps, rollercoasters, and more so make sure you Sign Up For Stuff. Possibly the best way to do all this is to learn more about a Love Journey. And if you want, you can see it all by downloading some Calendars.

So, let’s get together.

peace to you
